Rick Sawyer's experience and knowledge of the Hollister Ranch is extensive.
He has had access to the Hollister Ranch since 1968, prior to the land
becoming a subdivision. Rick lived on the Ranch from 1971-72, employed
with the first agricultural cattle grazing operations of the new subdivision.
His duties included riding herd on 3,000 head of cattle and helping
the original Hollister Ranch Broker while working with 80 head of horses.
At that time, buyers were shown parcels by horseback.
In 1973 Rick kept beehives on the Ranch and started Hollister
Ranch Honey Company. He purchased his first parcel in
1979. He is constantly involved with the Hollister Ranch Owners Association.
Since 1984, Rick has been full -time in real estate selling Hollister
Ranch parcels.

Rick's family has been active with Natural
Resource Exploration and the ranching business since the early 1930's
which has given him the foundation for his real estate career. While
employed in the construction industry in the 1970's, Rick accumulated
valuable experience relating to home building and land use. By 1974,
he created Hollister Ranch Honey Company and then built Santa Barbara
Honey Company, producing and distributing local beehive products.
In 1986, Rick was awarded "Realtor of the Year" by
the Lompoc Valley Board of Realtors. In 1988, Rick earned his California
Broker's Licence and operates Sawyer Real Estate. He is considered an
expert for home, land & ranch sales in Santa Barbara
County, and a specialist in Hollister Ranch properties. Rick has been
a consistent multi-million dollar producer since entering the real estate
profession in 1984.
Born in Santa Monica, CA, Rick
moved to the Santa Ynez Valley in 1966. In 1970 he graduated from
Midland School, a local boarding school. Rick attended The United
States International University, Stanford University and UC Santa Barbara
where he specialized in English and Film Studies. His book, Within
the Shells, was published in 1972.
Today
Rick lives on the Hollister Ranch and in Santa Barbara.
