WEIGHT OF THE WORLD
by William H. Bateman & Richard S. Sawyer

Every dawn opens a new roadmap,
Each scaled to hold the events
Next to encounter, whether dark or light.
I'm lead by my crumbs of wisdom
Into each daylight, out of each light.

My tracks and raw prints leave behind
Confirmation only that I was there
Still breathing deeply and comforted by
A lightness of limb and spirit and mind,
setting me directly on Him, I rely.

But ahead, if only this weight I can loose,
Like dripping oil in my hourglass of rhyme,
There must lie a paradise of being,
Easily found without my quiver of worries
And the weight of the world cast down.
